
Mrs. Olga Salcedo – Head of School

Passionate educator, advocate of children, firm believer in Christ, over 29 years of valuable experience in the field of EDUCATION.
Mrs. Salcedo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Degree in Early Education, INTEC, and a Master’s Degree in Education, Framingham State College. She has assumed leadership positions in different school areas: Early Childhood Coordinator, Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal, Academic Director and Head of School, and recently completed the Leadership certification from ACSI. Mrs. Salcedo is knowledgeable in accreditation processes, participating actively as team leader member with the well known educational organizations COGNIA and ACSI. She is part of the Executive Board of ACSI Caribe and member of the Accreditation Commission for Latin American Schools. She has recently joined as a committee member in the Association of Private Schools (AINEP). She has also collaborated in teacher training programs for educators of public schools of DR including EDUCA PIPE, USAID LEER and in New Teachers Induction Programs.
Our Head of School collaboratively with the Leadership Team strives to achieve academic excellence, strong Christian belief and love for learning.

Felipe Aracena – Chief Finance and Administration Manager

Mr. Aracena has 31 years in the gospel, giving a visible testimony of faithfulness and a life consecrated to God. He earned his BA from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), and his MA of Specialized Senior Management in Finance from Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC).
He has gained extensive administrative, technical, and financial expertise through his work as an executive in various organizations. His professional profile has been complemented with different courses and seminars related to: Leadership, strategies, Quality, Memorable Service, among others, and has extensive experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Rossy Báez – Academic Principal

My love for education started at an early age and it has certainly been a road of much learning and growing. I majored in Law at PUCMM, and have a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Assessment from the Institute of Education of UCL, London. I have a little over 10 years of teaching experience in different levels and by God’s grace have been in School leadership for 7 years. I am a blessed child of God, daughter, sister, wife, and one little sheep within God’s family. I strongly believe the Lord has called us to serve Him wholeheartedly and I enjoy trying to do just that wherever He has placed me.

Jeidy Rivera – Early Childhood Education Coordinator

Hello! Hello! Dear families!
My name is Jeidy Rivera. This is my fifth year here at MECS, and my third year as Preschool Coordinator and I can’t wait to see God working in your child’s lives and in ours!
This is my eleventh year in a row being an early childhood educator. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at the Universidad Iberoamericana UNIBE, also a master’s degree in Educational centers management at the Universidad Abierta Para Adultos (UAPA). By the grace of God I am also a certified infant neuropsychologist by NeuroPsicologia RD. My passions are to help others grow, teach and talk about God, and spend time with my husband, sons and daughter! I believe and pray that this is going to be an amazing year full of love, learning and growth with God’s strength!
May the Lord be our guide and help us through this school year. May His presence and love surround us everyday.

Daris Lara – Elementary School Coordinator

I have over 20 years of experience in the educational field. I hold a Teacher Qualification from UCSD, a Diploma in Differential Pedagogy, and a certification in Pedagogical Coordination. I worked as a teacher at MECS for four years and have been serving as the Elementary Coordinator for the past seventeen years. I am passionate about teaching and I feel committed to continue serving the Lord, having an education of excellence, but above all by sowing His Word, which will transform lives that will impact all around them.

Theresa Blash – Secondary School Coordinator

I am honored and thankful that the Lord has trusted me to educate His children, preparing them to change our world.
In 2012, I obtained a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. I entered the field of education in the 2004-2005 school year, making this the start of my 21st year as an educational world changer. I am excited to begin my seventh year as part of the MECS community!
When I am not at MECS, you can find me worshipping, working administratively for my church, teaching Sunday School, getting to know new places within the country, and spending quality time with my husband and daughter. This year we are excited to welcome a baby boy to our family!

Zenith Villadiego – Spiritual Coordinator
I am from Colombia, but God’s mercy and His plans brought me to this beautiful country almost 25 years ago. I have a degree in Preschool Education, Psychology and Theology. Additionally I have a specialization in Montessori Education and I have a Master’s Degree in Christian Education. Education is definitely my passion as well as serving the Lord. I have been part of MECS for 24 years, through which I have been a teacher in different grades and levels. Since the 2012-2013 school year I have had the privilege of serving in this place as Coordinator of the Spiritual Growth Area. I am very grateful for this new school year that begins. I have great expectations for this year and I want to see what God will be doing in our MECS community.

Yokasta Mancebo – ESLE Coordinator

I am a daughter of God by His grace, a woman passionate about collaborating in the advancement of the kingdom of God through all the doors that God opens for us. I have served at MECS from the year 2012 as Spanish teacher in the Secondary level. For the past 38 years I have worked in the educational field. I have completed two master’s degrees: Master’s in Pastoral Theology with the Latin American Theological College (FATELA) and Master’s in Christian Education with Indiana Wesleyan University. I have the privilege of serving you as Coordinator of the area of Lengua Española, Ciencias Sociales y Lenguas Extranjeras (French and Mandarin). We call our coordination ESLE. I look forward to seeing God work among us this school year!

Michelle Chalas – Curriculum / Extracurricular Coordinator
I hold a B.A. in Education from Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU) and a Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Universidad Europea del Atlántico, Spain. I also hold a Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) certification from the University of Cambridge, England.
I have had the privilege of serving in the field of education for over 24 years. During this time, I have taken on various academic roles, ranging from classroom teacher to academic administrator, including Academic Coordinator, Academic Principal, and Business Owner of an academic center.

Wendy Then – ECE Counselor

I have the honor of serving as the Counselor from Nido through 1st grade. I hold a degree in School Psychology from the Universidad Católica of Santo Domingo, a postgraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from INTEC, and a specialty in the Montessori Method, also endorsed by INTEC. In addition, I hold the ACSI Leadership Certification.
With 31 years of experience in the field of education, I am passionate about helping others and living out the purpose the Lord has entrusted to me on this earth.

Noelia Comas – Elementary Counselor

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in School Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and a Specialization in Inclusive Education for Social and Curricular Innovation. I also hold an ACSI Leadership Certification. I have worked in the field of education for over six years. I have the privilege and responsibility of serving students, teachers, and families from 2nd to 6th grade, and guided by God’s wisdom and constant help, I strive to make a meaningful contribution to their holistic growth.

Lunis Marmolejos – Secondary School Counselor

I hold a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Postgraduate in School Psychology, Diplomas in Family Counseling, Psychometric Assessments, Early Stimulation, Literacy and Child Abuse. I am Certified in Career Direct, and Speech and Family Rights. I have 27 years of experience, and 25 of them working at MI-EL Christian School. My mission is to accompany and guide students, teachers and families from 7th to 12th grade, through immediate assistance, adequate intervention and individual service, creating a sincere bond. I carry out my work with vocation, passion, respect, honesty, integrity, and above all love.

Raquel Gómez – LEAP Coordinator

I am a born again Christian, wife and mom, passionate about working for God’s kingdom by helping others. I have more than 15 years of experience in the field of education and psychology. I hold a Bachelor degree in Educational Psychology at UNIBE, a master degree in Family Therapy at UCSD and in Bilingual Education at Universidad Tecnológica TECH. My mission is to guide and provide personalized instruction for those students working below level in English through the Learning Assistance Program (LEAP). I pursue that the students in the program can achieve grade level skills in the English language through fun learning activities. It will be a pleasure for me to assist students, teachers and parents in this new journey.

I have been part of the MECS family since March 2016, and it is a blessing to serve in this community. I have walked with the Lord for 19 years, which has shaped both my life and my vocation.
I hold a degree in Social Communication with a minor in Public Relations from UASD, a Master’s in Business Management and Administration with a specialization in Digital Marketing from the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI), and an International Diploma in Leadership, Social Responsibility, and Sustainability from the Universidad Nacional Evangélica and the Centro Regional Ecuménico de Asesoría y Servicio. In addition, I hold the ACSI Leadership Certification.
Beyond my professional training, I am deeply committed to Christian education as a parent, with three of my children enrolled at MECS. I am passionate about serving others, fostering meaningful connections, and contributing to the mission God has entrusted to this school community.

Yan Sang – Human Resources Coordinator

Married for sixteen years to Beislyn Sang. I have two sons, Jair (13), and Adriel (10). I served in the Iglesia Bautista International for twenty-two years as a deacon and currently serve in the leadership of Ciudad de Gracia Church. I hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration from APEC and a master’s degree in administration with a double degree from Barna Management School and the University of Barcelona, a master’s degree in theology, and a diploma in biblical counseling. I have over seven years of experience in the nonprofit sector. I currently serve on the Board of Trustees of CoopAspire.
