DOMINICAN DAY
February 25th was a special day for the MECS community where students, parents and staff celebrated their Dominican nationality.
The school gathered together in an assembly to open up the day by singing the national anthem and praying for the nation. During the activity, the 9th grade student Ashley Guerrero made a monologue about what it means to be Dominican.
During this day, Students from Elementary school prepared a project titled Quisqueya, Full Steam Ahead! in which they exhibited about the Dominican gastronomy, art, national symbols and history. Students and teachers brought Dominican food to share with each other and came dressed in the colors of the Dominican flag.
To conclude the activities, the students of 9th grade recited a poem and 11th grade presented a play to the students of the Secondary school.
On the 26th, ECE students had their own Dominican Day, in which each class had different activities and presentations.

DÍA DOMINICANO
El 25 de febrero fue un día especial para la comunidad MECS donde estudiantes, padres y colaboradores celebraron su nacionalidad dominicana.
Toda la comunidad se reunió en una asamblea en el templo para iniciar el día entonando el himno nacional y orando por la nación. Durante la actividad, la estudiante de 9no grado, Ashley Guerrero, realizó un monólogo sobre qué es ser dominicano.
Durante este día, los estudiantes de Elementary prepararon un proyecto titulado Quisqueya, ¡A todo vapor! en el que expusieron sobre la gastronomía, arte, los símbolos patrios y la historia dominicana. Estudiantes y maestros compartieron comida típica dominicana y se vistieron con los colores de la bandera.
Para concluir las actividades, los alumnos de 9no grado recitaron un poema y los de 11mo grado presentaron una obra a todos los alumnos de Secondary.
Al siguiente día, el 26 de febrero, los estudiantes de ECE tuvieron su propio Día Dominicano, en el que cada clase tuvo diferentes actividades y presentaciones.
